Strategic development in all areas of fashion including garment production and fashion education levels 1-5 plus technical apprenticeships
I started my career in fashion buying at Littlewoods, then M&S and then I was promoted to be a Senior Buyer for the Arcadia Group. I loved these jobs and this gave me a great perspective into the corporate world and the various stakeholders and targets that drive the brands.
Ethics is important for brands and the current greenwashing must stop. I have set up factories that work! At Fashion-Enter the team achieved a leading status in the Fast Forward audit for three years running. This is a real quality benchmark of excellence.
After buying I created my own brand for ten years which was sold in the UK via independents and core retailers such a John Lewis, internationally UAE and Europe and also via party plan scheme which was highly successful. Unfortunately, I trusted the wrong partner with my brand and lost everything! A harsh lesson but hey that's why we need resilience and this experience created the drive to help others not make the mistakes I had made. Hence I went into consultancy which lead to the creation www.fashioncapital.co.uk in 2001 and Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) in 2006
In 2022 FEL had a turnover of £5.2m, academies in Islington, Haringey, Leciester and Newtown in Wales and employed almost 200 people. The education academy, Fashion Technology Academy (fcfta.com), provides vocational skills from level 1 - 5 and apprenticeships level 2 - 5. I trained to be a Level 5 teacher, an Assessor and IQA as well as undertaking a Level 5 in Mental Health Well-Being.
If you want to excel in delivery then you need to know what quality assurance really means. FEL was the first in the country to deliver technical fashion apprentices for clients such as M&S, Mountain Warehouse, New Look and Next PLC and excelled; currently has an Ofsted rating of Good
